Dr. Katie Baker
Research Engineer
As a biologist-turned-bioinformatician, Katie is uniquely qualified to help develop and mature Alana’s grasp of humanity. For example, her expertise was crucial to the development of ‘Aye-saac’ – a visual question answer (QA) system for blind and partially sighted people built using the Alana platform. She’s also worked on developing AI that can automatically run role playing games.
In addition to her PhD in genomics/bioinformatics, MSc in artificial intelligence MSc from Heriot-Watt University.
